Furvana 2023 COVID-19 Safety Policies and Procedures

Last updated: June 29, 2023

Vaccination

As Furvana strives to follow the latest CDC and WA DOH guidelines, vaccinations will not be required in order to attend Furvana 2023. However, we strongly recommend getting fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before choosing to attend, as we are a large public event with attendees who may be traveling from diverse geographies or may be immune-compromised.

Following the CDC definition, you are fully vaccinated:

It is strongly recommended that you also receive one additional updated booster, depending on your eligibility. For more information on vaccine eligibility and recommendations, please see the CDC website.

We will not ask you for proof of vaccination as a condition of receiving your proof of membership (badge). You may voluntarily show us your proof of vaccination at the con store to get a free "Vaccinated" ribbon. These are not required, but they are a fun way to show your support for public health!

Face masks

Face masks are strongly recommended for any attendees who consider themselves to be at heightened risk from the impacts of COVID-19, but will not be required in general convention spaces at Furvana 2023.

Dealers and other vendors at Furvana 2023 may require you to wear a mask in order to do business with them or browse their vending space. We ask that all attendees please respect the personal health decisions of all our dealers and vendors.

If another attendee prefers that you wear a mask when interacting with them, please respect their choice. No attendee shall be shamed for their choice of whether to wear a mask. Properly worn masks should cover the nose and mouth.

We will have a limited supply of disposable masks and we will be happy to provide one to you free of charge. You can also check out our Dealers' Den, where some of our talented dealers may have custom masks for sale!

Physical distancing

Physical/social distancing will not be required at Furvana 2023. However, attendees are expected to respect each other's personal space.

We will have free colored wristbands at Con Store that you can wear on your wrist or lanyard to indicate your comfort:

Sanitation

Hand sanitizer will be available in various areas of the convention center. Please feel free to use frequently, in conjunction with washing your hands.

If you are feeling sickā€¦

If you experience any symptoms of COVID-19, you should isolate yourself and get tested to ensure that you are negative for COVID-19 before attending Furvana 2023. More information about the symptoms of COVID-19 can be found on the CDC website.

If you test positive, you should isolate yourself and follow CDC treatment recommendations, and should not attend Furvana 2023. We know this can be very disappointing, but there will be many great times to be had in the future!
